On the night of yesterday at 10:30 p.m., a 112 telephone call was received warning of the presence of an explosive device in the HUCA of Oviedo.
Although the call revealed signs of not being credible, since we are on level 4 of terrorist alert, the National Police decides to treat it as real, moving to the place Special Units (UIP-Dog Guides -TEDAX) carrying out the relevant investigations in the facilities and dependencies of the Hospital without locating anything anomalous.
From the National Police we want to remember the seriousness of making false bomb threats, a fact included in article 561 of the Penal Code.
“Anyone who falsely claims or simulates a situation of danger to the community or the production of an accident as a result of which it is necessary to provide assistance to another, and thereby provokes the mobilization of the police services, assistance or rescue, shall be punished with a prison sentence of three months and one day to one year or a fine of three to eighteen months.”
“The seriousness of the threat or its terrorist nature would be an aggravating factor, for which the penalty would be imposed in its upper half, from seven and a half months to one year in prison.”
From that very moment, an investigation has been initiated to locate the author of the facts and to ascertain responsibilities in the face of these very regrettable facts.
The Chief Executive of Asturias wishes to point out that, in the absence of total guarantees of the veracity of the threat, at no time was the eviction of the entire hospital complex considered, proceeding exclusively to clear any sector, for the purpose of carrying out the corresponding search.
