Huesca.- The subdelegate of the Government in Huesca, Carlos Campo, and the subprefect of Oloron-Sainte-Marie, Nathalie Vitrat, led this Wednesday, September 30, the annual simulation of the Somport tunnel, an exercise that on this occasion tested the reaction to an accident scenario involving two passenger cars and a transport of cattle.
The objective of the simulation was to evaluate the coordination of all those involved (emergency services, tunnel managers, civil protection, etc.) In a realistic accident case where healthcare should be provided and assisted, as well as evacuating users from the tunnel. In this edition, the exercise considered as an additional difficulty the logistical and veterinary management of a case in which live animals were involved.
