Huesca.- The deputy delegate of the Government in Huesca, José Carlos Campo, and the mayor of Almudévar, Sofía Avellanas, together with other members of the municipal government team, have held a meeting with the chief commander of operations of the Civil Guard Command in Huesca, Enrique Martín, and with representatives of the National Police, in order to address security in the town after the attempt to raid a house that occurred on the night of September 1 and the device for the festivities of the Virgen de la Corona.
The meeting has made it possible to assess, in the words of the subdelegate, the mostly “peaceful” response of the population of Almudévar to prevent a possible crime, giving immediate notice to the Civil Guard to the agents of the armed institute to take charge of the situation. His actions prevented the alleged occupation from being consummated and resulted in the arrest of an individual for threats and resistance to authority.
Given the social concern that similar events provoked last June in the town, the City of Almudévar, through the Subdelegation, requested a formative action of the Civil Guard in which advice and guidelines were offered to prevent this type of crime. The meeting confirmed the success of this preventive talk together with the vigilance and action of the Civil Guard, which will keep the focus on this problem.
In addition, on the occasion of the festivities of the Virgen de la Corona, which begin this coming Monday, September 7, the Civil Guard will reinforce its presence in the town, with special emphasis on the main festive events scheduled.
The Subdelegation of the Government and the City of Almudévar makes a joint appeal to maintain at all times the civic attitude demonstrated so far and to notify the Civil Guard of any suspicious attitude.
