Huesca.- The Subdelegation of the Government of Huesca, through the Violence against Women Unit, is coordinating with municipalities and local entities in the province to maximize the use of the funds that the State Pact against Gender Violence allocates to local entities to promote activities of prevention, eradication and awareness about violence against women.
Within this framework, today has taken place the second informative session on the procedures to be followed to organize and justify this type of activities. During the meeting, the deputy delegate of the Government in Huesca, José Carlos Campo, thanked the municipalities for their commitment in the fight against violence against women.
“The fight against gender-based violence and any kind of violence against women and girls can only be won together. It is a task of the whole society in which the local administration has a fundamental task, since it is in the front line of the fight,” said Campo.
The subdelegate stressed that of the 461 measures contained in the renewed State Pact against Gender Violence, approved in 2025, 144 directly address local entities. “The central government provides funds from the Pact against Gender Violence to local entities but without the commitment, knowledge of the territory and the population and the creativity of this step of the administration it would not be possible to carry out this basic work against this true social scourge.”
More than a hundred representatives of different municipalities of the province have participated in these two informative sessions that, in order to optimize time and resources, have been developed telematically.
In them, the head of the Violence against Women Unit of the Government Subdelegation in Huesca, María Jesús Savicente, explained what type of activities to raise awareness and prevent violence against women can be financed by the funds of the State Pact against Gender Violence - which are automatically allocated to each local entity following population criteria and actions in progress from a minimum amount of € 1,522.84 - and the procedures to justify the expenses. All of these criteria are listed in one guide to good practice prepared by the Government Delegation against Gender Violence.
The funds destined for 202 local entities in the province of Huesca totaled, in the year 2025 - which is being completed and justified in these months - 445,571.53 €.
