San Esteban de Litera.- The El Prado Restaurant of the Municipal Swimming Pools of San Esteban de Litera has today joined the network of violet points of support for victims of cases of violence against women in the province of Huesca. It thus becomes Punto Violeta number 32 in the province of Huesca.
The head of the Violence against Women Unit of the Government Subdelegation in Huesca, María Jesús Savicente, gave a training workshop this morning to the members and workers of the cooperative Templar Hostelera, adjudicator of the restaurant service. This training provides the necessary knowledge to provide a first basic assistance to any woman affected by a case of violence.
After the workshop, María Jesús Savicente; the general secretary of the Subdelegation of the Government in Huesca, Amparo Roig; the mayor of San Esteban de Litera, Fernando Sabés, and the members and workers of the Templar Hostelera Cooperative have installed the Violeta Point badge that identifies the establishment as a place to which women can go to receive support in case they are victims of sexist violence.
The Violeta Point is an instrument promoted by the Ministry of Equality to involve the whole of society in the fight against male violence and to spread, in a massive way, the information necessary to know how to act in a case of violence against women. This initiative seeks to turn spaces of attention to the public and workplaces into safe places capable of offering a first orientation to the victims and their environment.
