Zaragoza.- The new headquarters of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Zaragoza will open its doors in the Dynamized-EXPO Business Park in autumn after an investment of 1,726,285 euros by the Government of Spain. The facilities will make it possible to significantly improve care for citizens, with more face-to-face and assisted care positions, and will increase by 30% the ability to perform theoretical driver’s license tests.

The delegate of the Government of Spain in Aragon, Fernando Beltrán, visited today the works of conditioning of the new headquarters of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Zaragoza, located in the avenue of Ranillas number 63, where he has been able to check the advanced state of the works.

During the visit, Fernando Beltrán highlighted “the important investment effort made by the Government of Spain, through the General Directorate of Traffic, to provide Zaragoza with a modern leadership, efficient and adapted to the current needs of the citizens and the staff who serve in it”.

The action involves a total investment of 1,726,285 euros, of which 1,408,422 euros are allocated to the conditioning of the building, 190,813 euros to the acquisition of new office furniture and 127,050 euros to the purchase of parking spaces for the Provincial Traffic Headquarters.

The building has a total area of 4,841 square meters, of which 2,577 square meters correspond to the project of conditioning the new headquarters of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters. The rest houses the Pyrenees-Ebro Valley Traffic Management Center and the common areas. The property was acquired by the General Directorate of Traffic in 2010 and since 2015 it hosts the Traffic Management Center, transferred from the headquarters of Vía Univérsitas.

The new units will make it possible to significantly improve care for citizens thanks to seven face-to-face care posts, six posts for assisted use of the DGT’s electronic headquarters and a specific post for tele-care.

In addition, the new headquarters incorporates a computerized classroom for theoretical exams with capacity for 45 applicants, which represents an increase of 30% compared to the current capacity and will allow up to 6,300 tests per month.

The building will also have a permanent road education room, an event room equipped for the celebration, recording and real-time broadcasting of events, a backup generator set for the Provincial Headquarters and the Traffic Management Center, and a space adapted for the parking of bicycles and personal mobility vehicles of the Headquarters staff.

Fernando Beltrán stressed that this action “is an example of the commitment of the Government of Spain to the continuous improvement of public services, bringing to the citizens more functional, accessible and prepared facilities to face the challenges of mobility of the future”
