Huesca.- The Government delegate in Aragón, Fernando Beltrán, together with the Chief General of the Area of Aragón, Antonio Orantos, today conveyed his recognition to the members of the Rescue and Intervention Groups in Mountains (GREIM) and their canine guides, as well as to the Air Unit, for the latest actions carried out in the Oscan Pyrenees.

At a meeting held at the base of the helicopter of the Air Unit of the Civil Guard in Huesca, Beltrán has valued “the expertise and extraordinary effort” demonstrated by these troops during their recent interventions, among which stand out the avalanches that occurred on December 29 in Panticosa and on December 31 in the Bielsa valley.

The Mountain Civil Guard has continued to act over the last few days, with interventions such as the night rescue of a hiker in Torla-Ordesa, this past Saturday 10, in the heart of Goretti. The delegate stressed that “the work of the GREIM is especially complicated in the winter season, although mountain accidents are occurring in all seasons of the year”, so he called to “follow carefully the meteorological parts of the AEMET and maintain prudence in outdoor activities”.
