Zaragoza.- The passage of the Francis borrasca has not caused serious affectations on the Aragonese roads. The initial forecast of snow at low levels due to this front has been decreasing with the passage of hours and since 12:00 hours there is no longer any active warning for today's day in the community. “That does not stop us from having to activate the Winter Road Plan”, said the delegate of the Government of Spain in Aragón, Fernando Beltrán to the media from the control center of the DGT. “Around 11 p.m. there were the first truckloads on the A-2, in Arcos de Jalón and Medinaceli, in the border area between the provinces of Zaragoza and Soria,” he explained. Some retentions for security reasons that have been lengthened during the early morning.
“This plan has been activated in all areas where it has been necessary to keep the roads clean so that, except for the affectations that have meant limiting the passage of heavy vehicles and some yellow notices to have special caution, right now on all the roads of the state in Aragón it is circulating normally, although always with calls for caution,” insisted the delegate. Because at the same time that the Francis fluff leaves the community, a mass of air of Arctic origin arrives that will leave in the community a generalized drop in temperatures. For tomorrow, the State Meteorological Agency has activated the orange warning by minimum temperature of up to -10°C in the Oscense Pyrenees and yellow warnings of minimum -6°C in much of the province of Teruel (Albarracín, Jiloca, Gúdar-Maestrancia) and -4°C in the center and south of the province of Huesca.
“The final objective must be to make the journeys as safe as possible and, above all, at this time, to finish the Christmas campaign well and that the arrival of the Three Wise Men to all Aragonese homes is done normally.” A precaution and attention to the weather conditions that Beltrán has extended to any leisure activity or sport in the snow, after the tragic accidents registered in the last days in the mountains.
For all of this, the delegate recalled that citizens can consult the notices in force both on the web and in the app of the AEMET as well as the state of the roads on the web of the DGT in case you are going to travel. Even more so considering that we are in the third and final phase of the special Christmas traffic operation. Between January 2 and 6 alone, the forecast is that more than 495,000 trips will be recorded on Aragonese roads.
