Zaragoza.- The deputy delegate of the Government in Zaragoza, Noelia Herrero, has visited the post of the Civil Guard in Borja together with the chief colonel of the Zaragoza Command, Rafael Campos, and the mayor of the town, Eduardo Arilla.

Herrero wanted to thank the Corps for its work in the area and, in particular, highlighted the operations carried out in recent months: the arrest of three individuals for the kidnapping of a person in Ejea and the arrest of two others who were discovered in fraganti robbing in homes.

The deputy delegate pointed out that security in the rural environment remains a priority for the Government of Spain and that all actions within the Civil Guard in the Community are aimed at strengthening its presence in the territory and reducing as much as possible the response time to any event. In this regard, Herrero recalled that this year 466 agents will be incorporated into the Civil Guard of Aragón, “a historical figure that reverses the deep cuts of the previous government”. Some of these new troops have also arrived at the Campo de Borja and the surrounding areas. “In this way, most Community positions have their full staffing. Some templates that you have to remember that were expanded in 2024. These new additions mean that we can continue working in the same line, guaranteeing security in our villages and transmitting tranquility to our neighbours”.

Crime data in the region, so far this year, offer a positive reading: home thefts have decreased by 78% and violent thefts by 60% compared to the same period last year. Also the crimes related to cybercrime (-89%). “They are forms of robbery and scams that do not understand borders and that find among the elderly the most vulnerable population. In addition, it is a constantly evolving typology of crime that also requires constant effort and dedication on the part of the agents,” explained the subdelegate.
