Bielsa.- The Parador de Bielsa is now part of the Violeta Point network, an instrument to provide information on how to detect and act in the face of a case of male violence, in addition to attending to, supporting and accompanying the victims.
The deputy delegate of the Government in Huesca, José Carlos Campo; the head of the VioGén Unit of Huesca, María Jesús Savicente, and the director of the Parador de Bielsa, José María Martínez, have been in charge of placing the badge, in an act that has been followed by a specific training for the employees of the establishment.
The incorporation of the Parador de Bielsa into the campaign of the Violeta Point is part of the agreement signed between the Ministry of Equality and the public company Paradores, by which the chain is committed to collaborate in the fight against male violence and facilitate the dissemination and access to the information available to the victims and their environment, thus becoming an active tool to eliminate gender violence.
Deputy delegate José Carlos Campo stressed the importance of “continuing to extend the protection network and insisting that machismo is negative for the whole society.” In particular, he stressed that “the incorporation of the Parador de Bielsa has a double positive impact: expanding the implementation of the Violeta Point in the territory and strengthening protection against machista violence in tourist environments”. The subdelegate wanted to thank the management and employees of the establishment for their commitment to the campaign.
Violet Points are an instrument promoted by the Ministry of Equality to involve the whole of society in the fight against gender violence and to spread, in a massive way, the social commitment and information necessary to know how to face episodes of male violence. The initiative also aims to bring comprehensive services closer to victims through their environment and provide information on how to respond to these cases to establishments, entities, companies and public agencies.
To facilitate this work, the Ministry of Equality provides Paradores with all the materials that make up the initiative violet dots, consisting of:
-Violeta Point Guide to Acting Against Male Violence: A guide with information on how to deal with a case of male violence in your environment, as well as resources for the victims themselves. It also includes information on what male violence is, its different manifestations, and how to detect it.
-Materials for establishments, entities, companies, public bodies: posters and stickers with a QR code linked to the Violeta Point Guide to act against Male Violence, which aim to point out that this space is a safe place for victims, where they can receive information and accompaniment if they need it.
-Badges to identify people involved in the fight against male violence: Anyone who uses it will represent a gateway for women victims to access the resources they need.
