The Young Cultural Bonus of 2022 has already exceeded one million operations in the 3,000 establishments adhered throughout Spain and the economic impact for the Aragonese cultural industries is about to exceed one million euros. Thus, the young Aragonese have carried out in the community 27,927 operations valued at 948,292 euros (with data as of May 31). The majority have been in the province of Zaragoza, where 22,668 operations have been carried out for 744,779 euros.
As of June 16, 2023, in the community there are 67 regional entities adhered to in which to spend these amounts. Of these, 40 are in Zaragoza, 17 in Huesca and 10 in Teruel.
The government delegate in Aragon, Fernando Beltrán, visited this Monday the facilities of the theater of Las Esquina in Zaragoza accompanied by his management team to publicize the conditions of the new call for the program. In this second edition, people born in 2005 in Aragon can already apply for the Young Cultural Bonus. It is necessary to have legal residence in Spain, or to be an asylum seeker, temporarily displaced or extutelated. This aid involves receiving 400 euros that can be used for the acquisition and enjoyment of products, services and cultural activities.
As the government delegate has pointed out, to request it, young Aragonese people who have reached or are going to reach 18 years of age in 2023 must register and carry out the application procedure on the website www.bonoculturajoven.gob.es until September 30. “We would like to encourage everyone in the right age to take the plunge,” said Beltran.
It will be essential that, previously, the interested parties obtain one of these three forms of digital identification: Cl@ve with basic registration (which can be requested and obtained by video call), Cl@ve with advanced registration (in person and for those who have not yet reached the age of 18) or the Digital Certificate. In the previous edition, to solve technical problems, the identification with the DNI in the post offices was facilitated. On this occasion, the tools have been improved, so this last option has not yet been implemented.
Performing arts
In 2022, more than 8,000 young people in Aragon out of the approximately 13,000 who were entitled to help, a figure that is equivalent to 61% of the total, slightly above the Spanish average of 56%. Zaragoza was the province that registered the most applications, with a total of 6,175. In particular, the Aragonese capital included about 80% of the young people who have applied for the cultural bond. The manager of the theater, María López Insausti, has considered that the initiative is especially useful for the performing arts since certain theatrical formats “are not part of the daily life of young people, as happens with cinema and music”, so the cultural voucher is an incentive for them to be interested in these initiatives, something they are already noticing in the tickets to their shows.
From the granting of the aid, young people have one year to use the 400 euros in cultural products or services in the affiliated establishments, which already exceed 3,000 throughout Spain. Those available in Aragon can be consulted on a map that can be found on the website.
