The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) will carry out conservation and improvement works on the structure on the River Ésera at kilometer 21,900 of the N-123A road in La Puebla de Castro, in the province of Huesca.
The works require the total cut of the road from 7:00 am next Monday 17 to 19:00 am on Friday 21 April. During the cut-off period, the traffic to Graus will have to be diverted through the other branch of the N-123, which will mean a detour of about 7 kilometers.
The works go through the sanitation with pressurized water system to remove the deteriorated concrete and leave the armor clean and ready for subsequent operations. Installation of a direct drainage system and cleaning and painting of walls.
It will also carry out the milling of the pavement, the waterproofing of the board, the spreading of a new layer of firm, as well as the replacement of the horizontal signage.
In addition, the railing and the containment system will be replaced by a high metal containment system.
The structure on the River Ésera is a hyperstatic bridge built with reinforced concrete, composed of a 50 meter long span with arches, struts connecting the board with the arch, a reinforced concrete board, and stirrups.
The structure has suffered deterioration due to the oxidation of the armatures and the cracking of the concrete, especially in the areas exposed to water and the ice-thaw cycle.
