The subdelegate of the Government in Huesca, Silvia Salazar, and the lieutenant colonel head of the Huesca Command, Francisco Pulido, have held a meeting with various mayors of the regions of Cinca Medio, Monegros and Somontano to analyze the security situation in these areas, based on the recent robberies of agricultural machinery in localities such as Pomar de Cinca.
The mayors of the municipalities of Castelflorite, Ilche, Berbegal, Laluenga, Laperdiguera, Torres de Alcanadre, San Miguel de Cinca, Pertusa and Peralta de Alcofea attended the event.
During the meeting, it was explained that the province of Huesca is one of the safest in Spain based on crime data, which does not prevent, in a timely manner, crimes against heritage in farms and homes that generate a sense of subjective insecurity among neighbors and small towns.
For all these reasons, the Civil Guard has transferred to the mayors that the presence of troops has been intensified to prevent these criminal actions, while progress is being made in the investigation of the latest events. It should be recalled that Operation Vinreq recently took place, which led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator of nine robberies in Riglos, Biscarrués and Murillo de Gállego.
The subdelegate of the Government in Huesca, Silvia Salazar, explained that “although they are timely, there is a concern that we have to respond to in order to restore peace to the inhabitants of our towns”, for which she thanked “the intense work that the Civil Guard is carrying out in the province to prevent and resolve these cases”.
The meeting once again highlighted the importance of citizen collaboration to prevent and resolve these events. Thus, the subdelegate has called that “whenever there is a robbery, however small, or a suspicious presence is detected, it must be transferred to the Civil Guard so that it has as many possible indications to track these events and find the guilty as soon as possible”.
