The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma), through the public enterprise land entity SEPES, has incorporated into the Affordable Rental Housing Plan (PVAA) three new actions to raise about 880 homes and dotational accommodations on public land in Dos Hermanas (Seville), in Soria and in Barcelona.
In particular, in the Sevillian municipality of Dos Hermanas the performance will take place in ‘El Quintillo’, which has an area of 9.56 hectares. Its promotion will allow the creation of a new residential area in the center of the city, with capacity for 923 homes; although SEPES will ascribe to the agreement with Mitma the 628 protected homes that correspond to this action. This area is in the process of establishing the Compensation Board, of which SEPES and the City of Dos Hermanas would be part as the only two owners of the land.
For its part, the public land entity will develop in Soria the Antonio de Nebrija action, executing one of the new challenges that it incorporated in the addendum of the SEPES/Mitma agreement, signed last April, as is the creation of housing to face the demographic challenge. dotational. In particular, Soria’s dotational equipment grounds allow for the development of around 75 accommodations.
Finally, in Barcelona, SEPES has concluded an agreement with the Consorcio de la Zona Franca to acquire a land located in the Marina Alta sector of Prat Vermell, where it will promote the Carrer del Foc action, promoting around 177 homes for affordable or social rent, in a tensioned market area such as the municipality of Barcelona.
With this action, the public land entity enters the residential market of the Catalan capital, a project that adds to those already announced in Batea or Sarrià de Ter, both in Catalonia, where protocols have been formalized with their respective municipalities to generate affordable housing in these municipalities.
The Government has launched the Affordable Rental Housing Plan (PVAA) to articulate the development of new homes through seven initiatives linked to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma), Sareb and the Social Fund for Rental Housing. The initial goal is to enable more than 184,000 new homes to be rented socially or at affordable prices.
SEPES and Affordable Rental Plan
After the incorporation of these three new projects, SEPES currently has 18 residential actions attached to the Affordable Rental Housing Plan, which will allow the development of some 16,912 homes on public land. Likewise, it works on the analysis of 65 lands owned by the Ministry of Defense, located in 34 municipalities of 14 Autonomous Communities and in Ceuta and Melilla and that would allow the construction of another 20,000 homes.
These three projects have been seconded after the meeting of the follow-up committee of the agreement between Mitma and SEPES, which ensures compliance with the commitments made by both parties.
Last October, Mitma and SEPES signed an agreement that establishes the framework of collaboration for the development of actions for social housing policies, as an object of the increase of the park of homes for rent at affordable prices, mainly in stressed areas.
Subsequently, on April 4, the Council of Ministers approved an addendum to this Convention to incorporate those actions that contribute to the territorial rebalance and demographic challenge, that develop on dotational land that allows residential use for housing or dotational accommodations, or that cause positive synergies with nearby areas of economic activity.
