The delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, visited today the Granada municipality of Vegas del Genil, with whose mayor, Leandro Martín, met to analyze state projects of local interest that are currently being implemented, such as the construction of drought wells in the Vega de Granada to guarantee the water supply of the Colomera Cubillas system to 22 municipalities.
In the meeting, in which the subdelegate in Granada, Inmaculada López Calsalvo, has also participated, both have highlighted the “relevance” of this action “especially in a time of drought like the one that crosses the country, but which is more worrying in Andalusia, since the infrastructure gives guarantees for the water supply to 130,000 inhabitants of the metropolitan area of Granada, in addition to increasing the capacity for the Vega - Sierra Elvira Consortium”, said Fernández. These works, which have a budget of 4.7 million euros, represent 50% of the emergency actions contemplated in the RD of drought in the scope of the Hydrographic Confederation of Guadalquivir (CHG).
Another of the topics discussed at the meeting was the progress in the works of the Vegas link of the Genil-Cúllar Vega with the A-44, whose project will be published at the end of the year. The action, which has a million euros in the General Budgets of the state for 2023, proposes the construction of a road with a completely new route that will connect the A-44 motorway with the GR-3313 road, while connecting the A-44 motorway with the A-385 road through the conditioning and improvement of the existing road.
On the other hand, Pedro Fernández has known from the hand of the mayor the actions carried out in the municipality under the PFEA of 2022, such as the channeling of the ditch on the road of Cúllar Vega, which has entailed a total cost of 116.876€, (77.858€ SEPE subsidy) and the hiring of 59 people. For this year, Vegas del Genil has allocated 85,697€.
