Traffic forecasts 188,000 trips in Asturias in the "return operation". For this operation, the Agency expects that, from 3 p.m. on Friday 28 and until midnight on Monday 31 August, 188,000 of the 6,880,000 long-distance movements will take place in Asturias. In this operation, the return movements, which will take place in a staggered way and at the weekend itself, will coincide with the departure movements.
The month of August, the most important in terms of vehicle movements throughout the summer, is about to end and with it comes for many the end of the summer holidays and the consequent return home to return to the daily routine.
For this reason, with the aim of ensuring that these millions of journeys take place in the maximum safety conditions, the Directorate-General for Traffic launches this Friday the last of the special devices prepared for this summer.
For this operation, the Agency expects that, from 15:00 on Friday 28 and until midnight on Monday 31 August, 188,000 of the 6,880,000 long-distance movements will occur in Asturias due to the generalized return that will take place in the coming days.
In this operation, the aforementioned return movements will coincide, which will take place in a staggered way between the days before and the weekend itself, with the departure displacements that will also take place during this period, directed mainly towards the coastal tourist areas, in addition to the usual ones of a summer weekend.
To the previous road journeys, we must add the continuous influx of vehicles of foreign registration on the main axes and border crossings due to the return to European countries of habitual residence.
As usual, in order to cover this operation and make all the planned movements safe, Traffic has established a series of traffic regulation, management and surveillance measures for which it has the maximum availability of its human resources (agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard, personnel of the eight Traffic Management Centers of the DGT and personnel in charge of the maintenance of equipment and the installation of measures on the road, in addition to the personnel of the emergency services). It also has technical means such as: fixed and mobile speed control radars, as well as Pegasus helicopters, drones, cameras, vans and camouflaged motorcycles to control the use of mobile phones and safety belts and respect the rest of the rules.
In addition, in order to encourage traffic in the most sensitive areas, work on the roads will be paralysed, the holding of sports events and other events involving the occupation of the road will be limited and the movement of vehicles carrying dangerous goods, special transports, as well as the movement of freight trucks in general, on certain stretches of roads, dates and times will be restricted.

TRAFFIC FORECASTS
From the early afternoon hours ofFriday 28 (Especially between 15 and 22 hours), there will be high intensities of circulation, both in the direction of departure from the large urban centers, and in the main communication routes of access to the tourist areas of the coast and rest by the beginning of the summer weekend.
On Saturday 29 Intense traffic will continue from the early hours of the morning, motivated mainly by the usual short weekend trips.
On Sunday 30 In the morning there will be abundant traffic in the accesses to beaches and coast and already in the early hours of the afternoon, start to present high traffic intensities in the main roads of communication that channel all the return movement both of those who have finished their holidays in August and those who have enjoyed the weekend.
Finally, on Monday 31, return movements continue, although the intensity is expected to be distributed throughout the day, without reaching excessively high peaks due to the number of people who will have already made the return the previous days.
