- It is planned to invest 190 million euros in building the west section of the MU-30, 8 km long, which will give continuity to the east section, in service since 2021.
- The Reguerón motorway will connect with two important corridors: the A-30 and the Northwest Arc, currently in execution.
- This action will contribute to improving mobility and road safety in the metropolitan environment of the city of Murcia
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded 3.6 million euros (VAT included) for a service contract for the drafting of the project of the last section to complete the Murcia bypass motorway (MU-30).
The construction of this stretch of 8 kilometers has an estimated construction budget of 190 million euros. In particular, it is the western section of the Reguerón motorway, which will be located between kilometers 9 and 17 of it, and which comes to complete the southern bypass of Murcia (MU-30), giving continuity to the eastern section, located between the link with the avenues of Levante and Beniaján and the RM-1 motorway, placed in service in 2021.
Thus, once completed, the MU-30 will connect to two important paths:
- The MU-33 motorway (formerly A-30) at the foothills of the Puerto de la Cadena, allowing a distribution of traffic coming from Cartagena towards the eastern metropolitan area and the Segura valley.
- The Northwest Arc of Murcia, now called A-30, whose last stretch is in execution, linking it with the already built half of the Reguerón motorway and, through it, with the regional motorway RM-1 towards the coast of the Mar Menor.
The action contemplated in this contract, previously listed, would contribute to reducing traffic congestion on the A-7 and MU-33 motorways between the Ronda Oeste of Murcia and the north of the city, whose daily average intensities exceed 125,000 vehicles per day.
