Start Second Employment Plan
This process marks the administrative start of the second Employment Plan promoted by the Delegation, endowed with 13 million euros and aimed at hiring 1,120 unemployed people.
The Government Delegate stressed the relevance of this program, stressing that “this second Plan, with 13 million euros, is a direct boost to employment and the local economy.”
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in Melilla recalled that this new call raises to 31 million euros the total investment destined to salaries in the city between the two plans of the Delegation and the City Employment Plan, “an injection that directly affects thousands of families and that sustains real economic activity in our city”.
Likewise, it has highlighted that this second plan incorporates 52 occupations, compared to 37 of the previous call, with more specialized profiles. “We have expanded occupations and added more qualified profiles, such as speech therapists, physiotherapists, teachers, health and education personnel, because the city needs them and because we want this plan to remain a useful and transformative tool,” he said.
The Delegate has also insisted on the social component of the program, recalling that it prioritizes the recruitment of women, who must represent at least 50% of the contracts, young people, people with disabilities and victims of gender violence. “This plan is not only employment; it is equal opportunities, it is moving towards a fairer and more cohesive Melilla,” he said.
Finally, Sabrina Moh thanked the coordinated work of the SEPE and the commitment of all the participating agencies, stressing that the additions will begin before the end of the year and will be developed during 2026.
