Inclusive education is based on the conviction that education is a fundamental human right. Beyond integration, in today’s world we must make inclusive education effective. If there are many different ways of learning, many different ways of teaching must be contemplated. The MEPF considers inclusive education as the process that helps overcome the obstacles that limit the presence, participation and achievement of students, as well as the process of strengthening the capacity of the educational system.
Inclusive quality education is a matter that has to do with the equity of the educational system, refers to all students and requires transformations with an ecological and systemic perspective.
Therefore, the Educational Programs Unit of the MEFP, committed to Attention to Diversity and Teacher Training, has organized the IV Congress of Attention to Diversity “Expanding Horizons”, with the main purpose of offering strategies and resources to all teachers, to address inclusive methodologies in their classrooms.
Thus, for five afternoons, on-line, teachers will have the opportunity to have the greatest experts on the national scene.
Today, María Isabel Villaescusa will contribute ideas on curriculum opportunities for inclusion.
Tomorrow, May 9, José María Tejada will talk about easy reading and accessible spaces.
During two sessions, May 10 and 17, José Alberto Monseco will address the inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs in the ordinary classrooms.
This IV Congress will conclude on the 18th with the intervention of Olga Fernández and Narciso Rodríguez, which will influence the tools of social inclusion for students with Autism.
This Fourth Congress has been opened to teachers, associations, social agents and federations of mothers and fathers.
The celebration of this congress is an excellent opportunity to debate, exchange experiences and reflect on this important subject from different points of view.
All sessions will take place between 16:30 and 19:30 hours.
