The government delegate, Adriana Lastra, visited on Wednesday the headquarters of the Spiral MS group, which received a contribution from the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) of 882,869 euros for two projects, within the Cybersecurity Industry Boost Program contemplated in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
Specifically, ‘DEITREAL’ focuses on the detection of intruders in networks, capable of discovering and analyzing in real time any device that connects to the corporate network and does not belong to the organization, at the same time as with Machine Learnig techniques, identifies suspicious communications. The second, ‘CAASM Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management’, develops a risk management system according to the National Security System, which identifies the vulnerabilities of the software installed on a PC and helps its resolution through AI.
The delegate has valued the firm commitment to innovation, internationalization and the implementation of AI from Asturias by Spiral, a software manufacturing business group, founded in Gijón in 1998 by two brothers, María Isabel and Alberto Lombardía Prendes, together with Marck Macías. It currently integrates the Proactivanet and Prodity business lines, has a team of about 150 people, is based in Spain, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru, businesses in 20 countries and more than 400 international customers. The Gijonesa headquarters is located in the ‘El Molinón Technological Space’.
INCIBE’s investments in Asturias
The Program of INCIBE and the School of Industrial Organization (EOI), is aimed at promoting the national cybersecurity industry, supporting companies, SMEs and start-ups for their creation, growth, increase of their portfolio and internationalization.
INCIBE signed in Asturias 7 agreements with entities and formalized 8 contracts framed in the Innovative Public Purchase. The total value of these mechanisms amounts to 22.7 million euros by INCIBE and 5.9 million euros by the different entities, under cofinancing.
