9 September 2025. The delegate of the Government, Francisco Lucas, received today in the Superior Police Headquarters of Murcia the new agents that participate in the Project European Police Stations and that, on this occasion, come from Italy, Germany and Turkey.
The main objective of this project and reason for the displacement of police officers is to establish joint patrols in order to attend, in areas of special tourist interest or on the occasion of important sociocultural events, the displaced tourist.
In 2025, two Italian and one German police officers traveled to the city of Murcia during Holy Week, Spring Festivals and also during the Feria de Murcia. In addition, two French and two other Italian agents have travelled to Cartagena from June 15 to July 25, and to Lorca, a French and an Italian policeman, coinciding with Holy Week.
The government delegate said that this is a very interesting project that is giving excellent results and congratulated the National Police for participating in an initiative that promotes the brand “National Police” as a reference body within the international scene.
National Police Control Committee
Subsequently, Lucas participated in the meeting of the Control Committee of the National Police, in which the security situation of the Region of Murcia has been analyzed.
The Government of Pedro Sánchez has launched historic calls for employment, reaching a replacement rate of 125%. Currently, the Region of Murcia has the highest number of national police officers in its history, 319 more than in 2018, and the clear commitment of the Government of Spain to continue strengthening the workforce. Likewise, during these seven years, the salary of the National Police and the Civil Guard has been increased by about 40% on average.
