The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded 469,652 euros (VAT included) for the work to improve energy efficiency in the open-air lighting installation of the N-111, between km 322.2 and 324,112, in the access road to Logroño, from the exit from the LO‐20 in the direction of Soria.
A new road lighting system will be implemented through the use of LED technology and the renovation of electrical panels and circuits for lighting supply, distribution channels for lighting circuits and adaptation of low voltage electrical panels, together with complementary civil works.
With this, the lighting is recovered to improve the road safety of this section and reduce by 50% the energy consumption of the existing installation, once it is put into service. This action is aligned with the guidelines of the one Energy Efficiency Strategy of the State Road Network.
Characteristics of the performance
The section has a main trunk with a trunk section of 2 lanes per direction separated by a median and then a section of 2 or 3 lanes with links that give access to the AP-68.
The existing lighting is fed and controlled from a control panel, CM‐1, located at a midpoint of the segment subject to the operation, which has VSAP-technology luminaires with flow regulation as the only energy efficiency measure.
By the geometry of the stretch and the arrangement of the light points, the main trunk of the road and different sections of its link with the AP-68 motorway are distinguished.
For the renovation of the lighting system, the design of a smart lighting installation has been planned through the use of LED technology, acting on the following facilities:
- Road Lighting System.
- Electrical lighting power panels and circuits.
- Distribution channeling of lighting circuits.
- Adaptation of Low Voltage Electrical Panels
The Ministry works to improve the roads in La Rioja and, in this regard, has recently litigated for 13.7 million euros a contract for conserve 150 km in this Community, while advancing in the works of the stretch between Arrúbal and Navarreteof the A-68, with an investment of more than 157 million euros.
