The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, celebrated on Wednesday that the Co-responsible Plan of the Ministry of Equality leaves in 65 municipalities of the province of Ourense 1,532,491 euros. He did so during a visit to one of the Barbadás Concilia camps, part of this program, together with the mayor of Barbadás, Xosé Carlos Valcárcel, and the Councilor for Education, Marga Pérez.
In the children’s space of the park of A Solaina, where one of the camps is held, the subdelegate of the Government explained that the City of Barbadás was beneficiary this year of an aid of 42,083 euros from the line for local entities of the Co-responsible Plan, thanks to which it facilitates the conciliation of 294 families. "Thanks to this program, mothers, parents and guardians can work with complete peace of mind during the summer knowing that their children are well cared for with a very important public service," he said.
Eladio Santos indicated that the Ministry of Equality granted last year to the Autonomous Community of Galicia, within the framework of the Co-responsible Plan, 9,331,686.30 euros to promote conciliation and professional care, which is currently done (with the funds distributed in 2024) with different lines of aid destined to municipalities, non-profit entities, ANPAS and sports federations, among other programs. "The Government of Spain aims to consolidate care as a right from the perspective of equality between men and women," he stressed.
In this line, the subdelegate detailed that the Co-responsible Plan began in 2021 and today is consolidated as an axis of equality throughout Spain and specified that "it facilitates the municipalities to do activities and camps without using their own funds".
Co-responsible plan
The Co-responsible Plan, which this year distributed more than 142.5 million euros to the Communities and Autonomous Cities, is the responsibility of the Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women, and is based on a solid legal and political framework: Article 44 of Organic Law 3/2007 on effective equality between women and men, Article 24 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, the recommendations of the European Care Strategy (2022) and an approach to guarantee universal rights, regardless of the employment situation of the beneficiaries.
It is developed in collaboration with the Autonomous Communities and Cities because they are responsible for the implementation of three of its five axes: the creation of professional care scholarships that facilitate the reconciliation of families with children under 16 years of age, the promotion of employment and the certification of the professional experience of non-formal care.
