The subdelegate in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, presented this morning two new Violeta Points in the offices of the INSS and the TGSS in the city of Lugo, accompanied by the provincial director of the National Institute of Social Security, Juan José Rodríguez Gude, and staff of these administrations. With this incorporation, the progressive expansion of this network of safe and accessible spaces to offer information, support and referral to women in situations of gender violence continues.
The staff of the offices received specific training in the Subdelegation of Lucense that will allow them to act rigorously and sensitively in cases of male violence, following the protocols established by the Administration. These points aim to facilitate access to institutional resources and serve as a first reference for any woman who is at risk or needs guidance.
“Our priority is to bring protection and resources closer to women, also from the day-to-day spaces of the Administration, because male violence can manifest itself at any time and in any place,” said Isabel Rodríguez. “The involvement of the staff of these offices is essential to continue building an active institutional network, committed and prepared not to look the other way.”
An expanding network
This new Violeta Point joins those already operational in the Government Subdelegation in Lugo —in the departments of Immigration and Registration—, as well as in the provincial offices of SEPE, the Tax Agency and Muface. The forecast is to continue expanding this network of Violeta Points in other headquarters of the General Administration of the State in the province.
Accessible information and support materials
No Punto Violeta from the INSS offices will be available informative materials on institutional resources, how to act in case of violence and guides that explain how to identify the different forms of male violence. These materials also include posters and stickers with a QR code that gives direct access to the Punto Violeta Guide, developed by the Ministry of Equality.
This action is part of the campaign of visibility and institutional reinforcement promoted by the Government of Spain, which continues to develop measures to combat this social scourge from all areas, reinforcing the commitment to the victims and to the progress towards a society free of violence.
