The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today celebrated the advances of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge to comply with the commitments reached with the municipalities of the surroundings of the O Burgo estuary to improve the coastline once the work of regeneration of the estuary is completed. Pedro Blanco reported on the status of the four projects to be implemented in A Coruña, Oleiros, Culleredo and Cambre, to which the Secretary of State for the Environment, Hugo Morán, committed himself with the mayors of these municipalities on his last visit to the area.
The delegate recalled that these actions represent an investment of more than 5 million euros in the area that adds to the 41.5M€ invested by the Ministry in the regeneration of the O Burgo estuary. And he reiterated the importance of these works “fundamental to complete the humanization of the estuary and improve the quality of life of the neighborhood.”
Pedro Blanco pointed out that today’s BOE publishes the announcements of the opening of the public information phase of the two projects involving new actions, which are the extension of the seafront between Oleiros and Cambre (A Coruña) by 453 meters, and the treatment of the coastal edge in the Paraiso park in Oleiros.
To these two projects, the Government will add the extension of the seafront in the Pasaxe area by providing it with pedestrian pavement and a bicycle lane, similar to those executed in the rest of the estuary (more than 4km) and the improvement in the wall of the Culleredo promenade along with the construction and repair of pavements (3,200m). In the case of these actions, since they are works of improvement, the public information phase is not required, so the Demarcation of Costas is carrying out the regular processing of them.
Once this process is completed, the Ministry will implement the projects with its own resources (through Tragsa) which will significantly shorten the deadlines for the neighborhood to have these new areas available.
