The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco; the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, and the state delegate in the Consorcio Zona Franca de Vigo, David Regades, opened today what is the first institutional headquarters of the Government of Spain in the city, in a decision that the government delegate described as “historic” because it covers a “defect with the most important city of Galicia”.
The new office occupies the sixth floor of the multipurpose building of Rúa Oporto, 3. The space belongs to the Zona Franca de Vigo Consortium, which ceases its use to the Government Delegation through a protocol. This morning Pedro Blanco and David Regades ratified the agreement at the headquarters of the Consortium, in an event also attended by the general director of the Consortium, Inés González, and the subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada.
They then went to the multipurpose building where they toured the headquarters, which from now on, is “the reference point of the Government of Spain for companies, administrations, and for citizenship of this city and this metropolitan area,” said Pedro Blanco.
Presence of the Government of Spain
During the visit to the facilities, Pedro Blanco expressed his gratitude to David Regades and Abel Caballero for the sensitivity shown in the face of this request, and for the "collaboration we always find to complete the projects of the Government in this city."
Regarding the new headquarters, the delegate pointed out that “it strengthens the presence of the Government of Spain in Vigo and Galicia”. He added that it gives “visibility to the Government and the action of the Government” while consolidating “the image of the Government Delegation as an institution open to all the citizens of Galicia, close and modern”.
