The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, paid tribute to the Ourense citizens to the National Police by dedicating the name of the roundabout attached to the city’s police station. The delegate presided this morning the inauguration, in which he was accompanied by the mayor of Ourense, Gonzalo Pérez Jácome; the superior chief of the Police of Galicia, Pedro Pacheco; the provincial commissioner of Ourense, Cástor Vázquez, and the subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos.
Pedro Blanco thanked the residents of Ourense and its City Council for the sensitivity shown in approving this proposal, which honors the police force and all its agents. “I can’t think of a better way to end this 2024, where the National Police of this city celebrates a double anniversary: the 40th anniversary of its police station and the bicentenary of its creation,” said the delegate.
“This tribute makes Ourense a little closer to the men and women who make up the Police and who protect this city,” stressed Pedro Blanco, who highlighted the fact that Ourense becomes, with the appointment of this gazebo, known until now as “that of the pyramids,” the first Galician city council to have the name of the Police in its street, “becoming part of the history of this Police Station and the National Police in Galicia.”
