The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, accompanied this morning the mayor of A Coruña, Ines Rey, in the opening ceremony of the day on “The Tutor Agent and the protection of minors”, organized by the City of A Coruña, where she intervened to value that “the Tutor Agent program and School Coexistence Master Plan share philosophy, objectives and work tools, being therefore absolutely complementary” aspect that the Government values in a very positive way.
The subdelegate reported a 25% increase in participation in the activities carried out through the Master Plan for the improvement of coexistence in educational centers and their contours, highlighting the growth registered in the last year in participation by families and teachers.
Specifically, the subdelegate indicated in the last academic year that 1,955 training activities were carried out in the province, 100 more than in the previous year, out of a total of 4,600 carried out throughout the Community.
The results of the last course for the whole of Galicia, show the good progress and reception of the activities of the Master Plan that was able to reach 8 out of 10 educational centers, also involving a greater number of participants, “we are talking about 157,000 students and students, teachers, mothers and fathers and people who exercise the legal guardianship of minors, who were involved in these activities”.
María Rivas, valued the cooperation between the institutions, and the participation of the State security forces and bodies, to work together in such important aspects as the protection of minors, in their training and, above all, from an early age.
“This translates into greater security in our schools, institutes and for the educational community as a whole. And above all, it translates into awareness of risks and dangers, and also into knowledge of the tools we have to convert them,” he said.
The subdelegate also indicated that the requests that are made through the centers and the ANPAS serve to configure a map of the problems that most concern the educational community today.
Thus, the training in subjects such as cybercrime, with 36% of the activities; bullying and cyberbullying with 27%; and the additions with 12% of the activities, but without losing sight of the increase in training on hate crimes, stand out.
María Rivas also indicated that the subdelegation will continue to promote training activities on violence against women, which last year amounted to 11%.
