The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, and the Mayor, Evencio Ferrero, approached today to the headquarters of the Civil Guard, where they were accompanied by the Colonel Chief of the Command of the Civil Guard in A Coruña, Fernando Pedreira, to know the new facilities intended to care for the victims of gender violence. The deputy delegate and the Mayor stressed the importance of institutional collaboration to improve the provision of services to citizens, especially at such delicate and painful times as filing a complaint for male violence.
In this way, the Civil Guard headquarters, apart from having renovated, accessible and comfortable offices, will also have a reading room thanks to the collaboration of the Carballo City Council, which will undoubtedly result in the improvement of the service for both women and children.
Thanks to the creation of this new space, which has books and games for different ages, the children who come with their mothers to the barracks have an independent room in which they can be cared for and entertained while the women process the complaint.
The subdelegate of the Government wanted to value, and thank the different municipal areas that participated in the project, their involvement in detecting the need and taking care of the conditioning of the space as well as providing it with the appropriate materials for boys and girls.
