The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, highlighted this morning the important role played by the municipalities to face male violence during the course of the Xunta Local de Seguridad de Monforte, confirming that the new transfer of funds of the State Pact against gender violence leaves in the province of Lugo 240,979.19 euros. He co-chaired this meeting with the mayor, José Tomé Roca, with the presence of members of the National Police, Autonomics, Civil Guard, Traffic Subsector and Local Police.
Isabel Rodríguez gave an example to the city council of Monforte, which receives in this last call 11,398.50 euros, “making a good use of these resources to develop awareness campaigns and public policies that can have a greater effectiveness and impact by being promoted from the municipalities, the administrations that are closer to the neighbors and neighbors”. Likewise, he stressed the need for cooperation between administrations to improve the institutional response, as well as collaboration between security forces and bodies to guarantee assistance and protection to women victims of this type of violence.
In this case, the subdelegate congratulated the councilor for the activities carried out with these funds in the previous call, “putting in place different violet points with informative material, carrying out educational workshops for the prevention of digital and sexual violence, or providing training to identify the signs in established relationships about inequality between boys and girls.” In addition, the National Police has developed about 30 talks in educational centers of the locality our last two courses within the Master Plan.
Isabel Rodríguez took advantage of this space to invite the beneficiary municipalities to allocate these funds to the eradication of male violence within the framework of their competences, “developing awareness campaigns, improving care and information services, or even training the professionals working in this field in the municipalities, as well as the local police adhered to the Viogen system, to mention some examples,” he said. She also thanked “all the work being done by the different agents involved in the processes of violence against women, we know that they are going through difficult situations and do so with the utmost diligence and professionalism.”
Distribution criteria
Royal Decree 1023/2020, of 17 November , includes the established distribution criteria and includes, on the one hand, a fixed amount for each locality – without taking into account its population – and another fixed amount depending on the population of the municipality. In addition, the remainder that exists after applying the above criteria is distributed proportionally among all municipalities incorporated into the Comprehensive Monitoring System in Cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System) of the Ministry of the Interior, as well as among municipalities where registered victims are users of the telephone service of Attention and Protection for victims of gender violence (ATENPRO) on the first day of the month prior to the issuance of the annual transfer resolution.
