The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, called on the Galician canning industry not to miss the opportunity to request the aid that the government will soon call for this sector within the framework of the Agri-food PERTE. It was in the course of the delivery of the Anfaco-Cecopesca Medals, in which he claimed the collaboration between companies and administrations to favor the growth of Galicia and Spain.
In this regard, he pointed out that governments have the task of promoting industrial expansion and the modernization of the productive fabric. “Companies and administrations are essential allies to ensure the compatibility of all regulations. And he gave as an example the management of the coast, “where most of your companies are based and that we manage the State and Autonomy,” he said. This respect, he indicated that this collaboration “is fruitful in that it allowed the settlement of the factories, makes possible their expansion and modernization and, at the same time, guarantees that Galicia maintains the best preserved coast of Spain”. Thus, Pedro Blanco was convinced “we will be able to reach agreements to continue in that line”.
During his speech, the delegate congratulated the winners and the winners, among which the figure of Xiana Méndez, Secretary of State for Trade and head of the ICEX stood out. As head of trade policies, he “pushed the transformation of the #cara sector into a more sustainable and resilient model through this government’s Recovery Plan.”
Precisely, Pedro Blanco highlighted the fact that the canning sector was able to see crises as an opportunity to move forward and reinvent itself, betting on research, innovation and digitalization. “And there was the Government, on the side of companies, to turn these crises into opportunities for employment, modernization, social advances,” he said, transformations that could be intensified thanks to the Recovery Plan and all the regulatory reforms promoted by the Government “and that we will continue to promote.”
Finally, the delegate praised the quality of the conserves, “the best ambassadors of Galicia and the most democratic, since they are present at the most humble tables and in the most awarded restaurants in the world. This is your greatness,” he concluded.
