The delegate of the Government in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, accompanied by the superior head of the National Police in Galicia, Ramón Gómez Nieto, and the subdelegate of the Government, María Rivas, supervised this morning in the port of A Coruña the maritime security exercise MARSEC-24, which is organized annually by the Spanish Navy and which serves to strengthen collaboration between different agencies and agencies in the maritime, civil and military field with the aim of safeguarding common interests in the different Spanish maritime spaces.
Pedro Blanco had the opportunity to follow the exercise, led by the National Police, from the operations center authorized at the A Coruña Police Station. It simulated a terrorist incident on board a passenger ship, which involved the mobilization of troops on land, sea and air from the first hour of the day in various scenarios of the bay and the port. In this regard, he stressed the importance of collaboration between institutions to continue making Galicia one of the safest territories in the State.
The simulation included the participation of the National Police, responsible for coordination, the Port Authority of A Coruña, the Society of Rescue and Maritime Safety (Sasemar), the Navy, Maritime Captaincy, the National Police attached to Galicia, the Local Police and the Firemen of A Coruña and the emergency services of 112 and 061, entities to which the government delegate in Galicia congratulated for the excellent execution of the same.
