The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the role of the Lucense and Galician neighborhood movement as a factor to carry out projects that improve the quality of life of neighbors. “The union of the neighborhood,” he said, “allows progress in the improvement of public services, communications, equality and social inclusion.”
Pedro Blanco participated this morning in Lugo in the presentation of the X “Believe in the Neighborhood Movement Awards” organized by the Galician Confederation of Neighborhood Associations “Rosalía de Castro” (CoGAVe), an organization that is composed of seven neighborhood federations of the four provinces.
For the delegate “the act is a recognition of the work done by the men and women of the associations of neighbors and neighbors of parishes, towns and cities of Galicia, which are authentic schools of citizenship”, while calling for their dialogue and collaboration with the public administrations. In this line, the government delegate said that “it is the union of the neighborhood and the local administration that directs it, represented here in its mayor, Lara Méndez, the driving force of the transformation that Lugo is experiencing, a city that will now have a train station equal to its people and this province.”
Finally, Pedro Blanco congratulated COGAVE and the Neighborhood Federation of Lugo and congratulated all the winners, highlighting the distinction given to the general head of the Civil Guard in Galicia, Miguel angel Arias “because if we talk about quality of life, we must mention security guaranteed by the Security Forces and Corps”.
