From June 2, the Intercity service that daily connected Madrid and Badajoz in both directions will be replaced by a new Alvia service (hybrid Talgo train S-730). Thus, in addition to offering greater reliability and comfort for the traveler, the offer to travel between both cities will be increased by 600 weekly seats.
As announced by the Ministry of Transport several weeks ago, the recent reception of 106 series trains in Galicia and Asturias has allowed the relocation of Alvia trains on other lines of the country, as is the case in the territory of Extremadura.
With this, there will be two Alvia services that will connect Madrid and Badajoz daily. In total, Renfe offers in the Extremadura line 184 services and 35,870 weekly places to link the region both internally and externally, reaching different municipalities of Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid.
End the Alternative Transport Plan in Extremadura
The new Alvia service will begin to circulate coinciding with the completion of the Alternative Road Transport Plan that Renfe had established in several sections of the region on the occasion of the works of Adif.
Tickets to travel from June on the new Alvia and the other services of the Extremadura line can already be purchased through the usual sales channels.
