The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, together with the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, has presided over the minute of silence called at the headquarters of the Government Delegation in condemnation of the machista murders of Algemesí and in support of the relatives and friends of the victims.
“Faced with these new murders that break us from pain,” said Bernabé, “the administrations have to face up to one another.” “Not a hesitation, not a play on words, not a timorous speech. There is only room for the united struggle of all”- he added. At the same time, the delegate has appealed to the complaint as an instrument to combat male violence. In this sense, he has pointed out that “all of us have to become a violet point, protective people of those women who we think may be vulnerable. We need to raise our voices. Complaints are essential to protect.” For this reason, he has called for “the collaboration of citizens, environments, family environments, friends, neighbors, neighbors, all those who may have any suspicion.”
Bernabé recalled that “the Government of Spain, which is absolutely committed to the fight against gender violence and for that reason, has doubled the resources.1.5 billion euros for this renewal that will have a follow-up that is essential and necessary”. In addition, the General Administration of the State “has put in place safe spaces to serve the citizens.” Nevertheless, “society’s global alliance against gender violence is essential. This is the only message that can come out today from all administrations.”
The woman murdered in Algemesí and her son are the first two of male violence in the Valencian Community so far this year. Today’s event began with the reading of an institutional statement against male violence by Minister Morant.
