The Delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presided together with the Superior Chief of Police in the Valencian Community, Carlos Gajero, on the Day of the Victims of Terrorism in the National Police.
This is “a fair and deserved act,” said the delegate. “Honoring the memory of the victims is to value the work of all the agents of the National Police who have lost their lives to defend peace, coexistence, dialogue, democracy and freedom.”
This day, which from now on will be commemorated every year. “It is of recognition and memory so necessary in a democratic society, to maintain the legacy of all those who fought for a better society, in peace and free of terrorism”
The delegate stressed that today is a day to “honor the memory of the 188 victims of terrorism members of the National Police, of which 65 “suffered the terrorist synrazon while serving in one of the Commissars of the Valencian Community”. Of the total number of victims, 150 were killed by ETA and 38 people by jihadist terrorists or other gangs that have acted in Spain.
