The Council of Ministers has approved the modification of four royal decrees that regulate subsidies in tourism within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The objective is to make the requirements more flexible in order to contribute to a greater and better achievement of the objectives pursued by the subsidies.
In particular, Royal Decree 1074/2021, of 7 December; 1118/2021, of 21 December; 449/2022, of 14 June, and 1011/2022, of 5 December are modified.
The amendments concern measures to promote tourism resilience in the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla. In particular, the deadline for the execution of the proceedings is extended until 30 June 2025. Likewise, the percentage of possible subcontracting of the financed actions is increased to 100%.
In addition, the system for amending the agreements containing the details of the actions eligible for funding is made more flexible, in order to allow a better adaptation of the offer of aid to the reality of the demand for it by potential beneficiaries. With regard to grants for the financing of sustainable projects for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the historical heritage with tourist use, the RD approved today will allow the modification of the content of the grant award resolution, the possibility of subcontracting up to 100% and the extension of the period of execution of the aid until 30 June 2026. This modification affects the projects presented by the World Heritage cities, among other destinations.
