The provincial delegation of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training in Ceuta and the Bertelsmann Foundation today presented the publication “Case Study. The Working Table of the Dual VET in Ceuta”, with the aim of showing a successful experience in the collaboration of a Working Table made up of representative agents of the economic, educational and institutional sector in Ceuta to promote the dual VET in the Autonomous City. Both entities have promoted, together with other key actors such as the Chamber of Commerce of Ceuta, Confederation of Entrepreneurs, SEPE, PROCESS and the Caixabank Dualiza Foundation, meeting and discussion spaces to develop new educational policies and thus offer more opportunities for training and advice to young people who are developing their future.
The presentation ceremony, which was held this morning at the State Public Library in Ceuta, was attended by Rafael García, Government Delegate in Ceuta, who commented “without a doubt, Dual Vocational Training is a tool for attracting talent and also to provide companies and educational centers a space for meeting and exchange, which favors the creation of projects”
Next, Yolanda Rodríguez, stressed “the need to continue working on this project and that the Dual FP in Ceuta is a reference to take into account for the quality and prestige it deserves”
For his part, Ignacio de Benito, stressed that “this is one of the best initiatives in this field that has been promoted in Spain and the commitments made by all the members of the table ensure an intense number of activities to promote Dual VET in the Autonomous City throughout 2023”,
A successful worktable in boosting Dual FP in Ceuta
The results of the publication have been presented by Ignacio de Benito, emphasizing the importance of having these initiatives in working tables with meetings and discussions between the main representatives on the advantages of bringing the Dual VET to young people in Ceuta, as well as finding the fit that can have for the professional training of young people, and the socioeconomic situation in this Autonomous Community.
The first two chapters of the publication are dedicated to exposing the socioeconomic characteristics of Ceuta, its incidence in dual VET and what has been the working table about this modality. In the first, sociodemographic data and the business fabric are presented in Ceuta, where the services sector and the high employability in the Public Administration currently stand out, thanks in part to the promotion of its Strategic Axis 01; the new economic model to, among its many other causes, strengthen the development of companies and the generation of companies. The second chapter, deals with the different phases that have influenced to achieve success in this initiative, mentioning the initial reflection, the constitution of the technical commission, the activation of this, the way of implementing these actions and the follow-up so that they are carried out in the best way. The third chapter disaggregates, in a very simple way, the main results of the evolution in the dual modality and the advantages that it will bring to the community economy, relating the exponential growth in recent years, between 2019 and 2023, of the students in dual VET projects. The last chapter is dedicated exhaustively to the evaluation of the working table by the representatives of the technical committee consisting of Yolanda Rodríguez, Provincial Director of the Ministry of Education and Professional Training, Ignacio de Benito, Senior Project Manager of the Bertelsmann Foundation, Joaquín Mollinedo, General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce of Ceuta, Eva Aguado, Territorial Coordinator of Center and South in the CaixaBank Dualiza Project and José Simón, Provincial Director of the SEPE.
The presentation also included apprentices, which has made it possible to make the experiences of young people visible live and to know at first hand what they think about this way of learning and training for the future.
Yolanda Rodríguez, Provincial Director of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, Ignacio de Benito, Senior Project Manager of the Bertelsmann Foundation and José Simón Marín, Provincial Director of SEPE, also took part in the round table.
Finally, Yolanda Rodríguez García, has closed the event, concluding that Dual Vocational Training has to be a guarantee of success in the training of students, where from the first day the learning process is based on the reality of a work environment.
In short, this initiative is committed to training and professional guidance, so that more young people know and can value this training alternative in their decision-making process.
