Criminal offenses have been reduced by more than 21% in the municipality of Santa María de Cayón from January to September compared to the same period in 2024, a decrease that is due to the fall of both conventional crime and cybercrime.
This has been detailed this Thursday by the government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, in the Local Security Board that has presided alongside the mayor of Santa María de Cayón, Francisco Viar, and in which the head of the Civil Guard, Lieutenant Colonel Julio Postigo, along with other commanders of the body and representatives of the Local Police have also participated.
Casares has indicated that, in the first nine months of 2025, in Santa María de Cayón conventional crime has been reduced by almost 21%, going from 181 to 143 infractions, and cybercrime, with a reduction also of 21% (from 57 to 47 crimes).
