The National Police has arrested a man in Bilbao as an alleged perpetrator of a crime of provocation to commit crime, by directly inciting young people to commit robberies with violence through the Internet.
The investigation began when researchers of the Provincial Information Brigade (BPI) of Bilbao, in their work of cyber-patrolling, discovered in a well-known social network a video in which a young man taught others, apparently underage foreigners, how to carry out violent robberies using the method of the "thug". This type of criminal modality consists of attacking the victim from the back and pressing the neck with the arms to cut off the blood supply to the brain and cause an immediate fading, subsequently proceeding to undress it.
In this sense, they verified that the video had been filmed on the terraces of a large commercial area of the Biscayan capital, reaching more than a million views and thousands of “likes”. In addition, it also became news in several newspapers, which produced an obvious social alarm.
After the appropriate investigations, the agents identified the author and protagonist of the video as the owner of the website from which this content was broadcast and discovered that he had also prepared previous videos in which he urged young people to commit all kinds of crimes, explaining that they had to take advantage of the fact that they were under 14 years of age to carry them out, since in Spain they are not imputable.
For all these reasons, on the 12th they proceeded to the arrest of this suspect, who turned out to be an 18-year-old boy with a record against the property and resident in the San Francisco neighborhood, being placed at the disposal of the Guard Examining Court of Bilbao.
