The Government Delegation in Navarre condemns the new murders for gender violence confirmed by the Ministry of Equality in the provinces of Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga. In the case of Barcelona, the victim is a 38-year-old woman allegedly killed by her partner on November 13 after an attack on October 18. There were previous complaints of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor.
The victim of Madrid is a 60-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered by her spouse on November 15. There were no previous complaints of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor.
There are two more cases in the province of Malaga. The first of these is that of a 60-year-old woman allegedly killed by her partner on November 22. It did not appear in the VioGén system. The second victim is a 25-year-old woman who was allegedly killed by her spouse on November 26. Both the victim and the alleged aggressor appear in VioGén with other different couples, although both cases are inactive.
With the confirmation of these cases, the number of women killed by gender violence amounts to 40 in 2025 and 1,335 since 2003, when these data began to be collected.
The government delegate in Navarre, Alicia Echeverría, wishes to express her absolute condemnation and rejection of these machista murders and transfers all her support to the families and friends of the victims. It calls for all efforts from the institutions, administrations and the whole of society to arrive on time and avoid more deaths.
