The delegate of the Government in Navarre, Alicia Echeverría, has today presented the event organized on the occasion of the commemoration of the “50 years of Spain in Freedom”, in collaboration with the Special Commissioner created for the development of this initiative and the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory. The goal, he said, is “to remember the advantages of a democratic system, insofar as democracy has brought the period of greatest stability, prosperity and freedom in the contemporary history of our country.”
The event, which will take place on November 20 in Baluarte, is intended as a reflection on how society has changed in these 50 years: from culture to music, coexistence, equality and freedom. “It will be a lively, participatory and emotional event that will combine dialogue with art and music as a tribute to democratic values and collective progress,” explained Echeverría.
The central axis will be an intergenerational dialogue on how we understand democracy today, how we have reached this point, and what challenges we share as a society. And all this, said the delegate of the Government, “at a time of such uncertainty and a boom of extremist movements around the world that endanger rights and freedoms already won.”
