The police forces operating in Navarre recorded 8,255 criminal offences in the first quarter of the year, that is, 2% less than in the same period of 2024. In this way, the crime rate of the last twelve months decreased compared to the previous quarter (52.9) and stood in the Foral Community at 52.6 criminal offenses per 1,000 inhabitants, 2.4 points above the national average.
They are data of Balance of Criminality published by the Ministry of the Interior and which reflects the evolution of crime in Spain recorded in the first quarter of 2025 by the State Security Corps (National Police and Civil Guard), the Security Corps dependent on the Autonomous Communities (Ertzaintza, Mossos d'Esquadra and Foral Police of Navarra), and also by those Local Police Corps that provide data to the State Security Forces and Corps.
Between January and March, burglaries in homes, establishments and other facilities dropped by 12% (from 366 to 322). The same decrease was recorded in the case of the known crimes of drug trafficking (from 50 to 44). Crimes against sexual freedom decreased by 6.5% (from 92 to 86), although sexual assault with penetration increased by 40% (from 10 to 14). The other crimes against sexual freedom fell by 12.2% (from 82 to 72).
On the other hand, there was a 200% increase in wilful homicides and attempted murders (from 3 to 9), and a 100% increase in wilful homicides and completed murders (from 0 to 2). In addition, a case of kidnapping was recorded (none in the same quarter of 2024).
Known vehicle subtractions were increased by 37.5% (from 32 to 44). Robberies with violence or intimidation increased by 24.7% (from 89 to 111), while serious and less serious crimes of injuries and tumultuous squabbling (from 90 to 110) increased by 22.2%. Thefts increased by 8.2% (from 1,585 to 1,715) between January and March.
In this way, conventional crime declined in the first quarter by 1.2% (from 6,646 offenses to 6,568). And cybercrime dropped by 5%. Thus, computer scams decreased by 5.7% (from 1,555 to 1,466), while the rest of cybercrimes remained unchanged (from 220 to 221).
Breakdown by municipality
The Crime Balance shows the breakdown of municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants:
- In the Egüés/Eguesibar Valley, the number of criminal offences fell by 22.8% (from 197 to 152). The crime rate is 29.1 criminal offences per 1,000 inhabitants.
- In Pamplona/Iruña, criminal offences increased by 6% (from 3,405 to 3,609). The crime rate is 75.5.
- In Tudela, they dropped by 9% (from 667 to 607 criminal offenses). The crime rate is 73.2.
- In Burlada/Burlata, the number of criminal offences fell by 28.2% from 181 to 130, with a crime rate of 33.6 offences per 1,000 inhabitants.
