The delegate of the Government in Navarre, Alicia Echeverría, spoke today at the opening ceremony of the eighteenth edition of the Student Hall and Professional Future, which is held until tomorrow at the Palacio de Congresos and Auditorio Baluarte. He has assured that the offers of public employment constitute an “attractive” professional outlet for young people.
“It is a great opportunity to access a decent and stable job, and to develop a professional career within the General Administration of the State,” said Echeverría, who recalled that “talent” is needed in the public sector, and that talent is key to “having better, stronger and higher quality public services.”
In her speech, the Government delegate stressed the central executive’s commitment to high-quality public employment, capable of attracting the necessary talent in the General Administration of the State. He recalled that in the last seven years the Government of Spain has convened more than 223,000 places, 40,000 of them in 2024. The salary of public personnel has been increased by 14.9 percent since 2018; and the quota of places for people with disabilities has been increased by up to 10 percent.
In addition, he explained that public job offers are being simplified, with selective processes based on skills and competences; guaranteeing gender equality in access and in the professional career.
As a result of that work, the average age of public personnel has decreased; the number of admissions exceeds the number of absences; and women account for almost 60 percent of the public workforce.
During the opening ceremony, the Government delegate also visited the stands of the Civil Guard and the Armed Forces, which offer information on their selective processes and professional outings in the Student Hall and Professional Future.
