Between January and September of this year, the police forces operating in Navarre recorded 27,142 criminal offences, 2.3 percent more than in the same period of 2023. In this way, the crime rate of the last twelve months is in the Foral Community at 53.2 criminal offenses per 1,000 inhabitants, 1.4 points above the national average.
They are data of Balance of Criminality published by the Ministry of the Interior and which reflects the evolution of crime in Spain recorded in the first nine months of the year by the State Security Corps (National Police and Civil Guard), the Security Corps dependent on the Autonomous Communities (Ertzaintza, Mossos d'Esquadra and Foral Police of Navarra), and also by those Local Police Corps that provide data to the State Security Forces and Corps.
Between January and September, wilful homicides and attempted murders fell by 41.4 percent (from 29 to 17). Known thefts also fell by 6.8 percent (from 6,926 to 6,453); and forced thefts in homes, establishments and other facilities by 5.9 percent (from 1,110 to 1,045), with a 2.5 percent decrease in the number of forced thefts in homes (from 760 to 741). Robberies with violence and intimidation dropped by 2.8 percent (from 362 to 352).
The number of wilful homicides and completed murders remains unchanged (3), and no kidnappings have been recorded, as in the same period of the previous year.
On the other hand, drug trafficking crimes are up by 45.2 percent (from 124 to 180). In the first nine months of the year, serious and less serious crimes of injury and tumultuous squabbling are also on the increase, with 29.1 percent (from 278 to 359).
As for known crimes against sexual freedom, they increase by 16.3 percent (from 301 to 350), although sexual assault with penetration decreases by 19.7 percent (from 61 to 49). The rest of crimes against sexual freedom grew by 25.4 percent (from 240 to 301).
Finally, vehicle subtractions increased by 5.4 percent (from 112 to 118).
In this way, conventional crime increases between the months of January and September by 4.3 percent. Instead, cybercrime is down by 5.2 percent. Thus, computer scams fell by 7 percent (from 4,826 to 4,487), while the rest of known cybercrimes rose by 9.2 percent (from 628 to 686).
Breakdown by municipality
The Crime Balance shows the breakdown of municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants:
- In the Egüés/Eguesibar Valley, the number of criminal offences falls by 3.5 per cent (from 550 to 531). The crime rate is 32 criminal offences per 1,000 inhabitants.
- In Pamplona/Iruña, criminal offences have fallen by 1.3 percent (from 11,957 to 11,803). The crime rate is 74.1.
- In Tudela, they increase by 12.6 percent (from 1,890 to 2,128 criminal offenses). The crime rate is 74.1.
- In Burlada/Burlata, the number of criminal offenses rises by 12.2 percent from 500 to 561, with a crime rate of 35 offenses per 1,000 inhabitants
