Two schools, two teachers and two police officers from Navarre have been recognized in the framework of the awards of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of School Safety in Educational Centers and their Environments granted by the Ministry of the Interior. These are the public school Griseras de Tudela; El Puy de Estella; Jesús María Ruiz, professor of the IESO Elortzibar de Noáin; Isaac Tejera, director and teacher of the school Griseras; Imelda Rey, inspector of the Provincial Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police of Navarre; and Alba María Pampín, civil guard of the negotiated Planes.
They are part of the ten agents of the National Police and Civil Guard, ten educational centers and ten teachers from all over Spain who have been recognized for their work to sensitize students against harassment and discrimination and in the prevention of crime.
The Master Plan for the Coexistence and Improvement of School Security originated in 2006, when the Ministries of Interior and Education and Science signed the “Framework Agreement on Education for the Improvement of Security”. This agreement resulted in Instruction 3/2007 of the Secretary of State for Security, which launched the plan with its current name and periodic renewal. Subsequently, Instruction 7/2013 conferred a permanent character.
During 2023, 5,601 educational centers from all over Spain participated in the activities organized within the Master Plan. In that year, 12,506 talks were given on bullying, 1,346 on youth gangs, 24,218 on new technologies, 5,404 on drugs and alcohol, 4,621 on violence against women and 328 on hatred.
The Plan in Navarre
In the Foral Community, during the past year, 3,087 educational courses and workshops were organized in which 68,263 students participated.
In Early Childhood and Primary Education, the 742 courses on Internet risks, in which more than 21,100 schoolchildren participated, stand out. More than 16,400 attended the 665 sessions organized on Road Education. And 256 courses on bullying were held with the participation of more than 4,100 students.
With regard to Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, 230 courses on Internet risks were taught with the assistance of more than 6,600 young people. There were 105 courses and workshops on gender equality and violence against women in which more than 6,000 students participated. And more than 2,700 attended some of the 99 sessions on drug addiction. Finally, 301 courses on harassment were held with more than 1,200 attendees. As a novelty, the training on gender equality and violence against women came to the Vocational Training centers during the last course.
