More than 79,000 Navarre schoolchildren participated last year in one of the more than 3,200 talks given within the framework of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of School Safety in Educational Centers and their environments. A coordinated plan from the High Inspection of Education of the Government Delegation that was conceived in 2007 to respond in a coordinated and effective manner to issues related to student safety. It also arises as a response to the demand for training by the educational community itself on issues such as gender violence or road safety.
The programmed actions are offered each course to all educational centers in Navarre and they choose the ones that best fit their needs.
Of the more than 3,200 talks given during the course 2021/2022, the most requested in Primary Education have been those on road education, with a total of 1,447 sessions that have attended more than 31,000 students. They are followed by talks on risks on the internet, which have been a total of 1,084 with the participation of 29,144 students.
Another 300 sessions revolved around bullying and were attended by 5,226 students. 151 talks addressed gender violence and were attended by more than 4,600 schoolchildren. In addition, sessions related to the topic of drug addiction have increased, with 116 talks and 2,851 students.
For its part, the Coexistence Area of the Department of Education of the Government of Navarre has taught 33 different courses of Teacher Training, which have been attended by more than 9,500 teachers.
In addition, the Institute of Public and Labor Health has carried out various actions aimed at facilitating coordination with other structures of the Foral Community, promoting healthy lifestyles and including ludopathy prevention and ICT workshops aimed at professionals and families.
The balance of the course has been analyzed within the framework of the Coordination and Follow-up Commission of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of School Safety in Educational Centers and its environments in which the High Inspection of Education of the Government Delegation, the Department of Education, the Institute of Public and Labor Health, National Police, Civil Guard, Foral Police, Municipal Police of Pamplona and the Coordination Unit against Violence on Women of the Government Delegation are represented.
