May 28, 2025. The Government delegate has inaugurated training sessions on updating Protocol 2025 that enters into force on July 1 and that replaces several Instructions of the Secretary of State for Security that regulated unique aspects of victim protection.
“The new Protocol 2025 adapts the operating procedure to the dynamics of the VioGén-2 System, which was implemented in October 2024, and consolidates in a single document several SES Instructions that were in force, specifying police actions in cases of greater complexity in a clear and systematic way,” explained Mariola Guevara.
The day was attended by the police units authorized in the VioGén System of Civil Guard, National Police and the Local Police Corps of the 26 municipalities incorporated into this system of the Ministry of the Interior for the protection of victims of gender violence.
Since the VioGén System came into operation in July 2007, more than 831,500 women victims have been treated through it by some of the 31,352 users of the Security Forces and Corps, and more than 7,115,000 risk assessments have been carried out.
The delegate of the Government recalled that the VIOGEN system for the protection of victims of gender violence covers 82.5% of the regional population and 76.58% of our territory thanks to the incorporation of twenty-six municipalities, whose local police collaborate and share information and resources with the State Security Forces.
