December 2, 2024. The prevention of bullying and cyberbullying and the risks of the internet and social networks remain the most demanded topics within the Master Plan for Coexistence in Educational Centers and their Environments, which last year held a total of 2,026 training and informative activities and conferences in more than 400 educational centers in the Region of Murcia.
The Government delegate has presented at the CEIP Santiago El Mayor de Murcia a new edition of this plan, aimed at students and the rest of the educational community and taught by professionals expert in the subject.
“In the academic year 2023-2024, more than 400 schools in our region joined the Master Plan, and for this academic year, 435 applications have already been received that will be expanded throughout the academic year,” explained Mariola Guevara, who added that this year new topics have been incorporated, such as: Road Education (taught by the Civil Traffic Guard) and Environmental Education, by SEPRONA.
Of the 2,026 talks and activities held last year, the National Police conducted 890, Civil Guard, 967 and the Violence against Women Unit of the Government Delegation, 169.
The Master Plan, which is developed jointly by the Government Delegation, through the High Inspection of Education and the Unit of Violence against Women, National Police, Civil Guard and the Ministry of Education, through its Observatory for Coexistence, aims, said Guevara, “to strengthen prevention through training in respect for fundamental rights and freedoms and to inculcate in students values as important as dignity and equality and prevent behaviors of gender violence, racism or xenophobia.”
The Master Plan, in addition to conducting talks for students, incorporates other actions such as:
-Coordination meetings with management teams, teaching teams and Ampas: 450 meetings were held last year.
-Increased vigilance in school settings: Last year, 7,335 surveillance actions were carried out by the State Security Forces and Corps.
-Permanent access to a police expert (On specific topics demanded by the centers)
-Exhibitions. Intended to bring the State Security Forces and Bodies closer to the students: Deactivation of explosives, guide dogs, anti-riot,…
The Master Plan, in an attempt to improve the confidence of children and young people in the State Security Forces and Corps, also includes exhibitions of both bodies, such as the one enjoyed today by the students of this center.
The Master Plan is developed in schools that request it on a voluntary basis, adapts to the needs of the school itself and involves students, teachers and parents, together with the State Security Forces and Corps, whose agents, through talks, meetings, exhibitions, conferences and monitoring, address the issues that are specific to the Plan:
- Bullying at school
- Drugs and alcohol
- Violent gangs, racism and intolerance
- Violence against women and discrimination
- Internet and social network risks
Finally, the delegate of the Government congratulated the directive of the CEIP Santiago El Mayor for the recognition received by the Ministry of Education for a project for the promotion of emotional well-being called, "Biographical classroom. The inner way in school.”
This project aims to amplify (expand and intensify), reinforce and attest to all content of an essentially attitudinal nature developed in the school context.
