January 23, 2023. The government delegate reported today that the Minimum Vital Income has already reached 19,682 households in the Region of Murcia, with a total of 61,296 beneficiaries, of which 28,328 are minors and 32,968 adults.
“The Minimum Vital Income is not only a benefit, it is the most ambitious policy that has been implemented in Spain to end situations of severe poverty and to achieve the full integration of people who are in social exclusion, and it has a special impact on the reduction of child poverty in our Region, because, in addition to these almost 30,000 beneficiaries, 12,282 complementary benefits have been granted to children, which demonstrates the scope and achievements of this project in such a short time,” he said.
José Vélez has visited in Lorca the information bus of the Minimum Vital Income, which for the last few days has been in Murcia and Lorca within its tour throughout Spain to inform and help citizens in the presentation of applications of those who meet the requirements.
The government delegate has valued this initiative to personally provide citizens with all the necessary information on a benefit that is framed, he said, “within all those measures of high component and social impact implemented by the Government of Spain and that, together with the increase of the Interprofessional Minimum Wage, the reduction of VAT, the thermal social bond or the aid to the lowest incomes, among others, constitute a true social shield to protect those most in need as never before,” he concluded.
The information bus, which was launched in October 2022 with the intention of approaching potential beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income who have not applied for the benefit and reporting on it, has served a total of 2,119 people.
